Students will be able to… visualize images created by this artist in their own city. Learn about pop art, specifically collage. Learn about the most notable artists in the field or collage, and technical skills to create one’s own collage either individually or collaboratively.
Create, Present, Respond, Connect
Students will learn about post-graffitism and explore Ruben’s website as well as his work at Bentwater.
Provide opportunity to use online learning tools such as a website that allows for collage, or collage images if students do not have access to technology (or if technology access is too stimulating for students and class size).
Teacher may also provide several images at each table or group to limit time wasted searching for images, and begin the creative brainstorming process; once familiar with the steps necessary, teacher provides more opportunities for deeper learning, ie:
Group work/individual work as needed depending on the class population, time allotted to the project, and resources/supports that the teacher has available to them.
