NON-DISCRIMINATION COMMITMENT & VALUES

Beyond Walls is a creative placemaking agency that uses a creative lens to address community needs.

We are a diverse group that believes cities best thrive when they are full of art and have engaged stakeholders and active spaces. Our work revolves around our mission to activate spaces to strengthen communities.

A collage of diverse people at an outdoor festival, featuring children in front of a colorful mural, adults smiling together, and a couple in traditional African attire, all enjoying a sunny day.

Over the past decade, we’ve built a team with a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences. We believe that a strong internal culture—rooted in respect, collaboration, and accountability—helps drive the creativity and impact of our public art projects. We apply these values across all areas of our work, from hiring and day-to-day operations to how we work with partners and communities. We aim to ensure our internal practices reflect the same standards of equity, accessibility, and fairness that guide our work in the public realm.

Beyond Walls engages communities through public art that responds to local needs and ideas. We collaborate with residents, artists, and organizations to shape spaces that reflect the people who live there.

Our goal is to create places that are safe, welcoming, and connected to the neighborhoods they serve. We listen closely, build trust, and work in ways that center community voices and long-term benefit.

We believe that:

  • Every neighborhood deserves active and well-cared-for public spaces.
  • Collaboration leads to better, longer-lasting results.
  • Art can strengthen communities and support well-being.
  • Public spaces should be accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

This work is always evolving. We remain committed to listening, learning, and improving as we grow.
