Micaela Levesque is a muralist and oil painter based in Hartford, CT. As a mural artist, she paints a diverse range of subjects that focus on portraiture, culture, nature, and landscape. Inspired by her Colombian roots, her artwork pays homage to Colombia’s rich biodiversity by incorporating vibrant hues of flora and fauna in a majority of her pieces. Through her murals, she aims to evoke a sense of harmony and appreciation for the world.
Her mural “Magnolia” is inspired by the endangered Puerto Rican magnolia tree and brings a tropical glow to the streets of Holyoke. The mural is a nod to island roots and preservation of nature and culture.
She began oil painting in high school and quickly became obsessed with the medium. Her early experiences sparked her curiosity and shaped the way she perceived her surroundings. Painting encouraged her to slow down and develop a deeper appreciation for the details in the natural world around her.
