Anna Dugan (aka Annadidathing) graduated with a BFA in 2013 from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She began painting murals in 2018 and has developed a deep connection and passion for public art ever since. Her work celebrates her heritage, navigates the complexities of identity as a mixed-race person in the U.S., and creates space for vulnerable and honest discussions on identity, growth, community, and mental health.
Anna explores complex themes through vibrant colors, patterns, storytelling, and modern folk art-inspired styles. Her goals are to make art more accessible, to increase Filipino representation in public art, and to use art to create emotional bonds within diverse communities. She loves creating public art for communities and painting murals for businesses that help elevate their brand and align with modern marketing strategies.
Her favorite part of this profession is the opportunity to meet people from all kinds of backgrounds. She believes art has the power to build strong bonds between people and communities that may otherwise not interact. Through her work, Anna has created some of her strongest friendships, which only strengthens her passion for what she does. Whether helping bring someone else’s vision to life or painting a mural that gives her own voice a place to live, Anna gives each and every brushstroke 100% of her care, focus, and love.
