Willy Gómez, known as Willgom, is a Dominican muralist and illustrator with over 20 years of experience in visual arts and design. Known for his striking murals, Willy has left his creative mark both locally and internationally, participating in major urban art events such as Hoy Santa Barbara, Rayaera, Artesano Project, Muralizando RD, and Extramuros PR. His work has been featured in New York, Spain, Cuba, and Puerto Rico, showcasing his versatility and unique style.
A graduate of the Altos de Chavón School of Design (2003), Willy’s career seamlessly bridges graphic design, illustration, and fine art. Early in his career, he showcased his illustrative vision in solo and collective exhibitions such as Realidad de Pensamiento (Casa de Teatro, 2009), Coleactivo (2011), and Mujeres en la Casa (2014).
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Willy has also made significant contributions to the Dominican Republic’s creative industry. He served as the Art Director for the prestigious Casandra Awards (2012) and the Sovereign Awards (2015, 2021), shaping their visual identity. He also contributes as the Director of the Design for OZ Sports, combining his passion for storytelling, design, and illustration.
Through his murals and illustrations, Willgom continues to explore themes of identity, community, and culture, establishing himself as a powerful voice in contemporary urban art.
