660 South Bridge

This housing complex and compound was built by German immigrant workers in 1910, and sold to French-Canadian developers. In the 20th century, heads of households included Yiddish-speaking Russians, Greeks, German-speaking Poles, and Germans, as well as native-born and French Canadian residents. Nearly all of them were employees of paper, woolen, or thread mills.
